Training

How Often Should You Train Each Muscle?

The classic "one muscle a day, once a week" bro-split isn’t wrong — but for most people, hitting each muscle more often works better.

The frequency edge

Training a muscle 2–3× a week lets you spread your volume into fresher, higher-quality sessions and keeps growth signals firing more often — usually beating a single weekly blast.

How to set it up

Full-body (3×) or upper/lower (4×) hit everything twice easily. On a PPL, run it twice a week for the same effect.

Total weekly volume matters most; frequency is just how you package it for better recovery and quality.

Quick answers

Is once a week enough?

It works, but 2–3× usually grows muscle faster by improving set quality and recovery.

Can I train the same muscle two days in a row?

Occasionally fine, but leaving ~48 hours between hard sessions for a muscle is ideal.
